The 57th international conference "Inertial Sensors and Systems" took place in Braunschweig Germany in September 2020.
For the third time the international conference "Inertial Sensors and Systems" took place at Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, organized by the "Institute of Flight Guidance (IFF)" together with the "German Institute of Navigation (DGON)", cosponsored by IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS). For the first time the conference had to be held as a web conference without direct personal contact due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The main aim of the conference was to provide a neutral forum for discussion and networking of competing companies, governmental decision makers as well as research institutions in the field of inertial sensors and multisensory navigation system.
17 technical papers and 2 alternate papers were presented, covering topics from Accelerometers, MEMS Gyroscopes, Vibrating Gyroscopes, Fibre Optic Gyroscopes, Sensor Fusion, Simulation and Testing, to Inertial Systems Applications.
A total of approximately 130 visitors from 19 nations underscores the international recognition of this conference.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the programme committee, Steffen Zimmermann (Chair), Fabrice Delhaye, Thomas Erler, Uwe Herberth, Thomas Löffler, Mike Perlmutter, Ulrich Mangold, Bertrand Morbieu, Andrei Shkel, Oleg Stepanov, Edgar von Hinüber, Jörg Wagner and Yuanxin Wu for selecting high level papers, to the staff of the IFF for their technical and logistic support, and especially to the conference manager Dr. U.
